Lumbermen's Merchandising Corporation LMC has been around since 1935 when a group of lumber dealers pooled their resources to get great value and deals from major lumber and building material producers. Today, LMC's relationship with those mills continue. LMC gets better quality lumber because of the long relationship and the volume that affords buying power. The quantity of lumber purchased at times even moves the market at the Chicago Mercantile where lumber commodities are traded. LMC is a dealer owned buying group with over 1100 locations in 44 states, doing business with over 1,500 quality lumber and building material suppliers. Along with select mills, major brand name manufacturers provide LMC dealers many purchasing opportunities. LMC is driven by its dealer owners, such as Chace, whereas 20% of dealers serve on LMC Committees. LMC Dealers have a combined buying clout of approximately $7.2 billion.
